Even though THC is the most famous compound in cannabis, the one responsible for all the fun, the highs, the munchies etc. of late, CBD is the one people are talking about, and that’s mainly due to the fact it gives all the healing but without the sometimes confusing high.

The fact is, whether you are a fan of the THC high or not, this amazing compound has so much to it, not least for helping patients suffering from insomnia or anxiety issues. But that’s not all, THC is also great at providing pain relief, whether neuropathic pain, or nerve-related pain. THC affects the CNS and blocks pain from reaching the brain in many cases.

More than that, an FDA-approved trial in 2013 confirmed THC’s effectiveness for pain relief, stating that, “A low dose of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol provided statistically significant 30% reductions in pain intensity when compared to placebo.”

THC is also available in pill form, which is FDA-approved, and is called Marinol. It is used to treat nausea and vomiting, and is very effective as a holistic, all-natural remedy. At the same time, studies have proved that THC protects brain cells in its capacity as a neuroprotectant.

It was discovered all the way back in the 1970s that THC is highly effective a s a sleep aid for many patients. And that relates closely to the way THC helps PTSD sufferers, and especially vets. THC gives a feeling of euphoria to many users, and offers them the opportunity to forget about their traumas and worries, at least for a while.

Another amazing thing about THC is that it is a serious appetite stimulant for some, and especially helpful for patients needing nourishment. According to the research to date, THC stimulates the human endocannabinoid system, promoting appetite and even making food taste better.
