Harrods, one of the world’s most high-profile, luxury department stores, is now stocking CBD oil supplied by one of the United Kingdom’s leading cannabis oil companies.

Hannah Skingle, Chief Operating Officer of Dragonfly, said: “We are delighted by this CBD distribution deal with Harrods, which further entrenches the legitimacy of the Dragonfly brand. It is exciting to see CBD move into the wellness market as it becomes more widely accepted and understood by the public as demonstrated by this deal.”

Dragonfly Biosciences supplies three of its CBD oil products to the famous London store. The 30ml bottles of Dragonfly CBD oil are sold in 1500mg, 2000mg, and 3000mg strengths.

Tesco, Boots and Pharmacists

Also based in London, Dragonfly Biosciences is one of the leading European producers of CBD extract controlling every stage of the process from seed to sale; farming, extraction and formulation.

It supplies both branded and bulk formulations and its CBD oils are also available at other leading U.K. outlets such as Tesco, Boots, and a number of pharmacies.

Last October, in the run up to the rescheduling of cannabis for medical use in the U.K., Dragonfly announced a new partnership with a leading cGMP pharmaceutical company in Malta.

This  venture takes advantage of Maltese regulatory framework  – in March last year it also legalized medical cannabis. Dragonfly says this deal will allow it be at the forefront of the market for European patient treatment through advanced formulations and deliveries.

Cannabis Grown in Bulgaria

The product will be manufactured in a cGMP facility and distributed in E.U. territories where medical cannabis is legally permitted to be sold in pharmacies via prescription.

Commenting on this venture, Ms Skingle said: “Combining Dragonfly’s growing and extraction expertise with pharmaceutical standards and skill set will enable us to progress in the medical cannabis sector, one of the fastest growing in the Pharma industry.

“As we progress with our joint venture, we look forward to supporting the health and wellbeing of patients across Europe.”

Chris Wronski, chairman of Dragonfly Biosciences, added: “This strategic move allows Dragonfly to not only to be leaders in the cannabidiol sector but expand to the area of medical cannabis.”

Dragonfly’s cannabis is mostly grown in Bulgaria where it harvests a 420-hectare crop every September, producing around 232,000kg of plants – or six million units a year. All of its extracts are certified vegan, non-GMO, THC-free and organic.
