This week, the cannabis industry has seen some very interesting and exciting news in terms of business and research. 

For example, Professor Raphael Mechoulam – the Father of Cannabis Research – is currently in the midst of creating a CBD-based medication to treat three aggressive forms of cancer. Also, the FBI is investigating the possibility of corruption in the cannabis industry. And, in case you haven’t heard enough of this already, even more people have been hospitalized due to tainted vape-cartridges. The legalization of cannabis was never going to be easy after so many years of prohibition, and the FBI just announced that they’re now actively seeking tips to curtail what they fear could become a widespread public corruption scandal.

FBI Public Affairs Specialist Mollie Halpern stated, “States require licenses to grow and sell the drug—opening the possibility for public officials to become susceptible to bribes in exchange for those licenses.” This is believed to be especially prevalent in California.

Tainted Vape Cartridges Land Seven Californians In Hospital

The latest case of vaping-related hospitalizations has seen seven people hospitalized in Hanford, California, due to tainted vape cartridges. According to reports, the cartridges contained a deadly lung toxin which causes pneumonia-like symptoms.
