Earlier this month, the legendary Willie Nelson and his wife Annie launched their CBD-based hemp and wellness brand: Willie’s Remedy.
Their first product is Willie’s Remedy a whole-bean coffee with CBD. The recipe was created by wife of Willie Nelson, Annie, and is sourced from various small coffee farms in the Santuario region of Columbia. It’s infused with full-spectrum, certified organic hemp that’s responsibly grown right here in the good ole’ U S of A.
It’s a medium-dark blend with balanced acidity and hints of natural cherry and cocoa flavor. There are three different types of beans in the coffee: Castillo, Columbia, and Caturra. When brewed correctly, each standard cup (8 ounces) contains 7 mg of CBD. This delicious coffee blend is currently available for purchase in all 50 states. Other products they’re working on include confections (such as gummies and chocolates), vape products, and topicals.
This new company is an intentional step in the opposite direction from Nelson’s previously launched brand, Willie’s Reserve, which is essentially a “farm to sale” operation with various recreational products. That company is still alive and well, but Mrs. Nelson recently stated that Willie’s Remedy has a different vision. “It’s not about getting high,” she says, “but it’s still all about Willie and the benefits we believe cannabis has to offer.”
Hemp is becoming increasingly mainstream in the United States and throughout the rest of the world. The recent passage of the Farm Bill offers many benefits to American hemp farmers and the industry as a whole.
Willie Nelson is a longtime time supporter of cannabis and an avid farming activist who’s focused on utilizing domestic hemp products. “Hemp production in America was stifled for so long, but it could now make all the difference for small independent farmers,” Mr. Nelson said. “Hemp isn’t just good for our farmers and our economy, it’s good for our soil, our environment—and our health.”
Ultimately, Willie’s Remedy is centered around the Nelson family’s dedication to supporting local farmers, exercising sustainable environmental practices, and providing convenient and high-quality products to consumers interested in the health benefits of hemp.
