With all the talk around these days about CBD – known technically as Cannabidiol – some people are a little confused about what it is, how it works and how it makes you feel. So what actually happens when you smoke CBD?

People have been using cannabis medicinally as well as recreationally for centuries. But only with the advent of modern extraction technology have scientists been able to take different compounds from inside the cannabis plant and isolate them.

Isolating specific compounds in plants and herbs is used for a variety of different things. One example of this is CBD – the cannabinoid that’s considered to be one of the most medicinal, but also the one that doesn’t get you high, dehydrate your mouth and eyes, or leave you disoriented with a groggy wake up the next morning.

THC is another compound in Cannabis and the one that gets all the attention. THC stands for Tetrahydrocannabinol, which very much gets you high depending on how much you take. Many people these days want to reap the fantastic benefits of the cannabis plant but don’t want the high, sluggish experience that often goes with it. That’s where CBD comes in.

While the Hemp plant contains more than 500 compounds that we know of to date, CBD is the most interesting as it seems to have helped many people who have insomnia, pain, and anxiety. These days, not everyone wants to take all the toxic medications their doctor prescribes them so freely. Many of these patented chemical drugs are known to be toxic and can even lead to serious health issues if taken in the wrong way.

CBD is plant-based, non-toxic, non-addictive and usually organic. We know that CBD, as well as the other compounds in cannabis, interacts in a sophisticated way with the Endocannabinoid System present inside every human (every mammal actually). This system regulates things like mood, sleep, appetite, and energy levels and it works in tandem with cannabis compounds when they enter the bloodstream.

These CBD extracts are put into things like Vape Juice, CBD Oil Tinctures, CBD Creams, and even CBD Coffee. But the strongest and most effective way of taking CBD, according to many, is to smoke the flowers that grow on the plant. These flowers are called CBD Buds and are specially cultivated to contain high levels of the CBD compound but trace-to-zero levels of THC. That means they can be used medicinally regularly but without the heady high.

CBD Flowers look, taste and smell like conventional cannabis but with some subtle differences. When you smoke (or vaporize) CBD Flowers, your body feels light and relaxed, but your mind remains focused and alert. That body sensation stays with you for most of the day according to your dose and the quality of the CBD Flowers you’re using.

Many compare the experience of smoking CBD with drinking a glass or two of wine; a sort of feeling of wellbeing as the body and mind feel relaxed and content. The tension inside the muscles is released, but you still feel active and should be able to carry out whatever tasks the day ahead has in store for you.

If you’re interested in trying CBD Flowers to smoke, there are a bunch of different strains available, depending on the specific effects you want to feel. Always make sure that a third party lab tests the CBD you’re buying for safety and potency and that there’s no heavy metals, pesticides, or other contaminants in the mix.

A great place to start is with customer reviews from verified buyers who have already tried the CBD strain you’re interested in. Also, always ensure you shop around for the best deals and stay on the lookout for discount codes that come up from time to time.
